A Championship History
Almost 26 years ago camp directors Monte Nitzkowski and Ken Lindgren realized there was a need for a world-class water polo teaching and coaching experience for young players that would make a lasting impact on them. Their experience as medal-winning Olympic water polo coaches reinforced the need for a structured environment where players could receive individual instruction that reinforced basic techniques and skills while developing greater abilities. They wanted players to benefit from a strategic and tactical understanding of the game as well as advanced instruction, evaluation and competition.
The result – Camp of Champions.
Monte and Ken still teach and oversee every aspect of the camp to insure the camp’s high standards of quality hands-on instruction, low player/coach ratios and superior facilities are upheld. Together with a hand-picked team of top-tier collegiate water polo coaches and national team players they continue to conduct the country’s premier water polo camp for girls and boys 12 years old and up… and it remains one of the sport’s best values!
